No. 354.-Notice is hereby given that the Governor proposes to make an order under the Streets Alteration) Ordinance, 1923, for the narrowing of the first scavenging lane, west of Battery Street between Nanking Street and Ningpo Street, Yaumati, to G feet in width measured from the west boundary of the existing scavenging lane.

Any person objecting to the proposed order must send his objection in writing to the Colonial Secretary so as to reach the office of the Colonial Secretary not later than the 18th day of July, 1925.

Such objection must state the reasons therefor and specify the property with regard to the ownership or occupation of which such objection is made and the interest therein of the objector.

WITH reference to the offer of new shares

dated the 15th May 1925 (made to existing shareholders of the Company) by the terms of which the sum of 87.50 per share was to be paid on the 30th June 1925 and the sum of $5 on the 30th September 1925 the directors have decided in view of the present condition of affairs) to extend those dates.

The date for payment of the first instal- ment of $7.50 per share is accordingly extended until the 30th September 1925 an the date for payment of the second instalment until the 31st December, 1925,

As regards shareholders who take advant-

age of these extended times the new shares allotted to them will rank for dividend as from the 1st October 1925 in respect of hall the nominal value thereof and as from the let January 1926 in respect of the full nominal value thereof.

Any shareholder who makes payment prior to the duo date will be allowed interest at 7% per amum ou the am sunt paid by him from the date of payment until the due date.

This notice will not affect these share- bolders who make payment on the original dates i.e. as regards the first instalment on the 30th June and as regards the second instalment on the 30th September. The

shares to be allotted to them will in accord- ance with the original terms of the offer rank for dividend on one half the nominal value as from the lat July 1925 and on the full nominal value as from the Ist October 1923.
